How to make Butter Naan

Ingredients:


  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons ghee, melted
  • Additional ghee for brushing the naans

Instructions:


  • In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix well.
  • Add the yogurt and warm water to the bowl, and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat a griddle or a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Divide the dough into 8-10 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.
  • On a floured surface, roll out each dough ball into a thin circle.
  • Brush one side of the circle with melted ghee.
  • Place the ghee-brushed side of the dough onto the hot griddle.
